The Sunshine State of oranges. It is said that around 1,000 people every day move to this state. Equally warm like Cali, but with a bit more rain. In Florida, they salt their margaritas, not sidewalks. Orange you glad to hear that? If you’re seriously thinking about moving from California to Florida, here is a moving essentials checklist to ease it up.
Where to begin?
Relocation doesn’t always have to be a nightmare. If you plan it thoroughly, moving across the state can be a fun experience. First things first, you need to start packing. It requires organization and planning ahead. Why move big stuff first, if you haven’t cleaned your new place yet? You should move things in a logical order, and that is the very reason why we made this list – the list of things that should go first. The rest can wait.

Excess things? Not a problem
It is not unusual to overpack when moving. Is that the case with you? You packed so many unnecessary things and you don’t have anywhere to place them while you unpack the essentials? Not a problem. Leave extra items in a safe place, while you make room for them in your new home.
Why Florida? Why not?
Living in the Golden State has its bright sides. Sunny beaches, hot weather, the busy city life. But what if you want to change that golden state of mind? Leave somewhere else, change the coast, but still feel similar to California? Whether it’s for business or just for fun and change. Here’s a suggestion: why not try Florida? They say that a bad day in Florida is still better than a good day anywhere else.

Moving essentials checklist
When it comes to packing and moving, you can always look online for tips and advice. There are some things that you’ll need from the moment you enter your new home. So make sure to keep them close and labeled. Here are some of them we considered essential:
- Cleaning products
- Clean beddings
- Bathroom essentials
- Kitchen utensils
- Tools
- Chargers
- Snacks
1. Cleaning products
Though your new place may already be cleaned, it is recommended to do it yourself, just in case. So don’t forget to pack some detergent, sponges, vacuum cleaner (or at least a broom and a dustpan), and some old rags and cloth, and get down to cleaning.

2. Clean beddings
Bring clean sheets, pillowcases, covers, pajamas, and underwear. It can change so much once you fall down exhausted from all the cleaning. You may be surrounded by boxes, but at least you’ll be comfy in your bed.
3. Bathroom essentials
You should at least pack the most important – toilet paper, soap, brush, toothpaste. But, it is best if you could add shower gel, towels, and a first-aid kit with some medications.
4. Kitchen utensils
Any tasteful moving essentials checklist wouldn’t be complete without this step. Though you might not have the strength to cook, you should at least pack forks, spoons, knives, glasses, and plates.
5. Tools
There’s always a possibility to do some minor interventions, and therefore it would be good to have some tools at hand – hammer, screwdriver, and measuring tape.
6. Chargers
Easily forgotten or buried under other stuff. Keep them together with your electronics, and label the box to find it easier.
7. Snacks
As we already said, you’ll probably be too tired to cook, so make sure to pack a lot of water, fruits, and snacks, or to order something to eat.
Enjoy the sun
Congratulations! You’ve made it through the moving essentials checklist! Once you’re done unpacking, go to the beach and relax. Maybe even order yourself a margarita. You deserved it. After all, It’s five o’clock somewhere.
