How to quickly cozy up your new apartment

    By Bailey N. | After the move, Home improvements 101 | 0 comment | 18 November, 2021 | 0

When it’s hot outdoors, you want your house to be light and airy, with no additional layers to trap moisture or keep heat in. When it becomes colder, though, you’ll want to put those clothes back on to keep the house warm and comfy. Fortunately, it doesn’t take much to make your place warm and appealing for the winter months. Simple changes like storing slippers by the front entrance or adjusting to soft lighting may transform your house into a cozy winter hideaway. So, let’s find out how to quickly cozy up your new apartment!

    Let there be light!

Lighting is the first step to quickly cozy up your new apartment! Nothing is more vital than proper lighting when it comes to creating a welcoming environment. Start by examining your lighting situation if you’re not sure how to build a cozy area. If you are moving during the summer, you probably won’t notice the lighting problems.

Candles are a great choice when you are cozying up with lights

Any single, strong overhead illumination should be avoided. Instead, ensure that you have enough job lighting, table and floor lights, candles (ideally fragrant! ), and ambient lighting. Create clusters of lighting where you want focal and discussion points after the sun goes down.

Also, make sure to consider your furniture. If you have too much furniture the space will be cramped, so make sure to consider that. If you didn’t move yet, you should team up with skilled specialists to help you move and choose the right furniture for your new apartment.

Get some greenery to help cozy up your new apartment

If you don’t already have plants, you should get some right now! Any live element in the home will assist to create a warm atmosphere. Just make sure to choose the right plants, especially plants for low-light apartments. But be warned: some of your plants will perish. It occurs even to the most experienced gardeners, so don’t give up! It is a necessary component of the learning process. Plants might be expensive, but there are several methods to save money while still having a lush greenery-filled house.

The other great thing about having a lot of plants is that you can decorate with just as many beautiful vases! Plants in pots, planters, and baskets are quite warm in and of themselves, and they have the bonus of bringing tactile bursts of interest to any area. If you already had many plants in your old apartment, ask a reliable mover like Family Affair Moving if they can move them for you.

Quickly cozy up your new apartments with fabrics

Hardwood and laminate floors are beautiful, but they may become cold underfoot in the winter. The same is true with tile. By putting a carpet between yourself and the floor, you will feel instantly warmer and cozier. This is one of the perks of living in a small apartment, you can completely cover it with rugs!

There isn’t a single room in the house that wouldn’t benefit from a lovely rug. Carpets may also be used in the bathroom and kitchen – many people currently decorate their bathrooms and kitchens with magnificent Persian rugs! So let your imagination loose and cozy up your new apartment in style!
