Is moving across the state a good way to deal with a broken heart?

    By Bailey N. | Moving destinations | 0 comment | 16 July, 2021 | 0

Getting your heart broken by somebody is one of the worst feelings in the world. There are plenty of ways you can deal with this situation, it depends on who you are and what are your interests and needs. It also depends on just how hurt you are and how bad what the other person did to you is. A lot of people take up a new hobby, try learning something new, go out more in order to meet other people, read, exercise, and so on and so on. But for some, all of this simply isn’t enough. A lot of people come to the idea of moving across the state to deal with a broken heart. And is moving across the state a good thing to do in this instance?

This is a very stressful thing to go through, both a heartbreak and a long-distance relocation. This is why we have decided to sit down and write just what we think about doing this. Moving can always be made easy but is moving to make dealing with a heartbreak easier or just worsen things? If this is something you are thinking of doing, this article is the one you needed to help you make the right decision.

Pros of moving across the state to deal with a broken heart

Most things in life have pros and cons. And so does doing this. Moving from one part of the country to another is exciting and it is but it is also very stressful. As you are dealing with heartbreak, this stress can be much harder to handle. But moving from one state to another is an amazing change to make which can make handling this moving stress a breeze. If you have a fear of long-distance moving, there are ways to make moving easier.

If you have been living in Florida for example and you are thinking about moving to another part of the country, California is the state for you. You can always join forces with professionals in order to make relocation easier. Plus, California is the perfect state to move to to get over heartbreak as there are plenty of fun things to do here.

    Sad girl.
In order to get over a breakup faster, you need to keep yourself busy. And moving is the perfect way to keep yourself busy for weeks!

Not only are you making a huge change which means turning a new page in your book and starting a new chapter. But you are also learning and experiencing new things. And a lot of therapists would advise you to do just that – step out of your comfort zone and do something you haven’t been able to do while you were in this relationship that has ended up hurting you.

Moving from one state to another will also pull your mind away from all the emotions that you are feeling and all the little changes in your life that have occurred after this person decided to leave. This is another pro of moving across the state in order to deal with the breakup. Moving, as we already said, is a complex process. And there are plenty of things that moving requires. Dealing with these issues instead of wasting time crying over spilled milk from your previous relationship is a far better option.

    Man planning.
Keeping yourself busy and away from thinking about the breakup is the best way to get over it. Moving across the state can really help out.

Cons of moving to deal with breakup

Of course, as to everything, there are cons to moving across the state to deal with a broken heart. For starters, you are possibly leaving some of your family and friends as well, not just the city or state. You will also have to say goodbye to them which isn’t going to be easy. It may result in you feeling worse than you did before the move. These people that are dear to you are people who you should be talking to regarding this topic. They will tell you what they believe is the best for you since they know you much more than we do.

The people you love aren’t the only thing you are leaving behind. You are leaving behind a lot of memories and other things you love about living where you live currently. When we say memories we certainly don’t mean just the memories you made with your partner but with friends, family, pets, or alone as well. Not being able to go to your local cafe on a Sunday or walk down your favorite street can break a heart much more than another person can. This is one of the hardest challenges of long-distance moving – leaving all behind.

    Person looking at a road.
Leaving can be as bad as not leaving if you have the need to.

This is why moving across the state after a break is as much of a bad idea as it is a great idea. You can always hire City Movers to move back to where you came from but why make such a mess out of your life. This can lead to healing lasting quite a long time. You will constantly be in a messy state of mind. This isn’t a state your mind is able to heal in.

Should you move across the state to heal a broken heart?

Unfortunately, this is a question you will have to answer yourself. But if you were to ask us, we say follow your heart. If you feel the need to leave a place for a certain period of time then go ahead and do so. There aren’t a lot of things stopping you from doing just that. Hopefully! But if moving truly isn’t a possibility for you, other changes can be made. You can remodel your home, you can travel, go out, have some fun. There are plenty of things to do to get your mind distracted.
