It is more affordable, especially if it is a local move.

Tips to move a washer & dryer like a pro

Washer and dryer are heavy and large, that is one of the main reasons why people have difficulties with relocating them. Also, it is not a task for only one person, it takes at least two strong persons. To relocate it easier, a guide may help, so don’t waste your time and start now with preparing. Step 1: Disconnecting

Where and how to start when moving with big appliances?

    • First, clean your washer and dryer. That means to move detergent in the washer and run the cleaning cycle. Also, you should remove any debris in your dryer. Also, clean them outside too.
    • Now it is time to disconnecting both appliances. Lets first start with a washer by draining the water and draining the hose. It must be completely dry. Detach the hoses and you can leave them inside of your washing machine.  After that, turn off the electricity. Leave doors open to dry out.
    • Now disconnect your dryer. Turn off the electricity and disconnect it from gas (you will need a wrench). If you don’t know how to do it, you should hire professionals. If your dryer is electric, then you just need to unplug it and that’s it. When you move a washer & dryer, always detach the hoses.

    Step 2: Moving

To secure machines during transportation, you should wrap them with a plastic wrap. This will minimize the risks of damages. A moving dolly is very helpful in this situation, but you will need help from friends to put machines on a dolly. Rent moving equipment and make your job easier and safer.

If you need to move a dolly down the stairs, at least one person should be in front of a dolly. Use a rope to secure a machine when it’s on a dolly. Also, using a ramp to load your washer and dryer into a moving truck is recommended.

    Step 3: Unpacking
